Product Development Manager
Adam is a Sydney native, husband, and father of two with over 25 years of diverse experience across hospitality, finance, supply chain, and product development. Adam has learnt the importance of resilience and adaptability, both personally and professionally. He’s a jack of all trades who thrives on continuous learning, always staying curious as industries evolve.
Adam’s career began in the hotel industry, spending 10 years in roles from Concierge to Front Office Manager, before moving to the UK for two years. During this time, he worked with several major financial institutions such as Bank of America, Barclays, Schroders and Nomura. Once returning to Australia, Adam spent a decade at Staples (Winc), leading supply chain operations across multiple product divisions and category management for furniture, including the migration of OfficeMax’s furniture business.
Most recently, Adam has been with Buro since 2019 overseeing the Product Development for the business and working to create a complete range of product options to support market requirements.
Outside of work, Adam enjoys watching rugby union and basketball, and loves spending time with family. “When you spend a lot of your working life travelling, it is so important to spend as much time connecting with your family, especially your kids, when you are at home.”

Rebecca has spent her entire career in customer service, bringing her experience and a passion for connecting with people to Buro. Before joining Buro, she worked in retail management, and although she studied interior design and interned at a home staging company, Rebecca discovered that her true calling was in customer-facing roles. Her “glass half full” outlook helps solve problems while maintaining a positive vibe.
At home, Rebecca and her partner share their lives with Pretzel, a rescue cat who’s become more like a best friend (and possibly the boss of the household). When she’s not at work, you’ll often find her hitting the gym or heading out on spontaneous adventures with friends.
With her upbeat attitude and commitment to helping others, Rebecca is a valued part of the Buro team, bringing energy and enthusiasm to everything she does.

Brodie Wakefield
Warehouse Manager
With a wealth of experience in warehousing and operations, Brodie brings a mix of precision and strategy to the Buro team. He got his start at Marks and Spencer back in 1997, where he quickly made his mark by breaking the record for picking 10,000 cube in a single week—a record that still stands today.
Brodie’s first role in New Zealand warehousing was at Citta Design, starting with five containers a year. By the time he left, the business had grown to a $15 million operation processing up to 150 containers, with Brodie advancing to Warehouse Manager. He then moved to Humes, a Fletcher Building company, mastering water main fittings and nationwide logistics. At Seamless Solutions, he navigated cross-docking for Air New Zealand and Flybuys Rewards, honing his expertise in efficient stock management.
Since joining Buro, Brodie has worn many hats, moving from Procurement, Warehouse Manager to Operations Manager. He’s built a reputation for streamlining processes, anticipating needs, and keeping everything running like clockwork.
Off the clock, Brodie is just as active. A former professional cricket player in England, he now coaches his son’s Colts cricket team and loves being involved in his two kids’ lives.

Chris Berry is the keeper of Buro’s history—literally. Joining the team in 1994 when we were still known as Buro Officeware, he’s our longest-standing employee and an integral part of the company’s journey from day one. With unmatched product knowledge and decades of experience, Chris has seen it all and knows the ins and outs of every chair we’ve ever designed.
He started his career with Dixons, a wholesale stationery company, working his way through roles in customer service, warehousing, and eventually running a department focused on computer furniture and chairs. A timely redundancy led him straight to Buro, where David Boyd personally brought him on board. And as they say, the rest is history.
A true Christchurch local, Chris attended Cashmere High School and has lived in the area his whole life. He’s been married for 32 years and has a bustling family life with two stepchildren and four grandkids. Outside of Buro, Chris’s passions include classic cars—he’s a proud member of The Classic Cortina Club—and he’s a skilled gardener and stone carver, often found sculpting pieces from Oamaru stone.
Chris’s wealth of experience and dedication to the brand make him a cornerstone of Buro. Whether you need a solution or a story from the early days, Chris is always ready to share his knowledge with a smile.

Continuous Improvement Manager
Meet Jacqui Perrett, the ultimate people person. Her career has taken her through FMCG and healthcare, but no matter the industry, one thing is clear: Jacqui knows how to connect with people. She’s the kind of person that teams love to rally around, with a knack for building a great workplace culture and looking after customers like they’re part of the family. With her natural ability to connect and build relationships, it’s no surprise that Jacqui has been headhunted for almost every role she’s ever had.
Outside of work, Jacqui’s all about giving back and spending time with those she loves—especially Ella, her 6-year-old British Bulldog, who she calls the best investment she’s ever made. Jacqui’s also a dedicated volunteer with IHC NZ, where she’s a friend and support to Jackie, a lovely lady with Williams syndrome. It’s her way of staying grounded and focusing on the positives in life.
Jacqui’s favourite quotes say it all: “I look small, but I think big!” and “Dynamite comes in small packages.” They’re fitting for someone who used to be a coxswain for the Auckland Rowing Club—small but mighty, leading the team with energy and precision.

Lisa Matijevich brings a rich blend of culture and experience to the team, with a mix of Croatian, Kiwi, and Australian heritage. She’s still close with friends she met in primary school—proof that she knows how to nurture relationships for the long haul.
Starting her career as a florist at 17, she quickly discovered a love for celebrating people’s milestones (though not so much the heavy lifting!). From there, she moved into sales, making her mark in the industry early on by managing sales in Melbourne. Back in New Zealand, she spent over 15 years at Office Products Depot, where her knack for relationship-building and sales excellence earned her multiple awards.
It was during her time at Warehouse Stationery’s B2B division that she first crossed paths with Buro chairs, and it’s safe to say she’s become quite the chair expert since. Now at Buro, she loves nothing more than helping customers find the perfect chair.
These days, she’s enjoying the country life in Huapai, swapping the city traffic commute for serene drives past cows and sheep. She’s even taken up gardening, nurturing herbs, tomatoes, and flowers from seedlings. Whether she’s growing plants or helping customers, Lisa has a way of making things flourish.
